Adrienne and Larry

More About Us

1. What New Mexico city do you live in?

We live in Albuquerque, New Mexico

2. How did you meet and how long have you been together?

We have been together for almost 5 years. We were introduced at happy hour in September of 2002. Larry asked me out at least a dozen times before I accepted (although the delay had nothing to do with me not being attracted to Larry). We finally went out on Valentine’s Day of 2003 and we have been by each other’s side ever since.

3. What do you both do for fun in New Mexico?

We enjoy spending time with friends and family. We especially enjoy every minute we spend with Larry’s six year old daughter. She is blessing and makes our lives complete. From March to October we spend a lot of time with Larry’s competitive softball team representing Albuquerque throughout New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Texas.

4. Tell us about your occupations:

Larry is a plumber at a local family owned business that has been a part of our community for over 50 years. Larry’s company has worked on important developments in our community including Isotopes Stadium, the VA Hospital, The Pit and the Water Treatment Plant; which will eventually provide the citizens of Albuquerque their drinking water. I am the Business Manager for a small; woman owned business which provides diabetes education and management to people living with diabetes in our community. Our goal is to reach as many people with diabetes as possible, ease their suffering and improve their lives by preventing complications while raising awareness.

5. What has been your most memorable moment together as a couple?

One of our most memorable (and silliest) memories was on New Years Eve of 2003. We decided to head up to Durango with some friends, rent a nice hotel room and enjoy the snow. That night I was jumping on our huge bed while dancing and singing with my best friend, Sara. Larry was watching and laughing at me. We were having a great time until I fell off the bed while in mid air! I ended up needing surgery to replace my ACL. It wasn’t very funny at the time but it is really funny to us now. Larry says I looked so cute jumping and laughing until I suddenly disappeared behind the bed! Another great memory was when we had the opportunity to spend an entire week at Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

6. What would you like voters to know about you?

We would like people to know that we believe we are the perfect choice for the NM dream couple. We are native New Mexicans…born and raised in Albuquerque. We enjoy our hometown and all of the beauty of New Mexico. After all, it is called the Land of Enchantment. Our parents were raised here, we were raised here and our children will be raised here. We have a commitment to New Mexico. Our roots are here. We will represent New Mexico to the greatest of our abilities.

7. What do you look forward to the most during your dream honeymoon in Italy?

Larry’s ancestors are Italian and Irish so he is really excited to visit Italy and see where his great grandparents came from. We are also excited to see all of the historical sites. There is so much world history in and around Italy. I am a major history buff so places like museums and old cathedrals will be very interesting to me. I have always dreamed of going to Italy and having the opportunity to se all of the great works of art first hand. We have also always wanted to take a gondola ride in Venice. I guess we better get our passports and brush up on our Italian!

8. Tell us why you deserve to win the $50,000 New Mexico Dream Wedding:

We think we deserve to win the NM Dream Wedding because we love each other so much. The couple chosen should be one like us. One that has been together a long time and has experienced the stresses of life. We know that our love can survive the greatest of trials and tribulations. Larry and I know what hard work it takes to make a relationship last. We do not take this love we have been blessed with for granted. We truly want to be together forever; for better or for worse. We cannot imagine what our future would be like without one another and we only can only vaguely remember life before we met. We were made for each other. “Soul mates” is a very cliché term but we knew from the first time we saw each other that there was a connection. We want to be married so badly but we want to do it right - to share with our loved ones. We want to look back at our wedding day fifty years from now and know that it was the best day of our lives. This NM Dream Wedding is the beginning of a whole new stage in life for us. Larry and I will never be able to have our wedding the way we imagine it without this opportunity. This dream wedding is something we have been wanting since we were engaged four years ago. We will be forever grateful if we are chosen and we will always cherish the memories of this experience.
